Today we started our Georgia O'Keeffe inspired colored pencil projects. Remember what you learned about color theory and the abstracted work of O'Keeffe. Put those two together and you can end up with a masterpiece.
- Complete a small rough draft version to practice with matching the color and texture of your image
- Start the Final Version
- Create a small 1in boarder around your paper.
- LIGHTLY sketch the image in pencil.
- Start with the lightest colors first and slowly layer up your work.
- Think about the direction of your marks and make them work with the image not against it.
- Remember you color theory notes and stay away from black until the very end of the project.
- Exaggerate colors and values to make your work look stronger and more defined.
